Dr. Ted Malahias – Dentist, USA

DR TED MALAHIASDr. Ted Malahias is a graduate of Albany College of Pharmacy class of 1982. He is a graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine class of 1990, and completed a general practice residency at St. Charles hospital and Rehabilitation Center in Port Jefferson, New York, in 1991. He currently practices general dentistry in Groton, Connecticut. 

Dr. Malahias researched the subject of dental enamel defects in celiac disease with Dr. Peter Green of the Celiac Center at Columbia University in New York. This collaboration resulted in presentations at the International Celiac Disease Symposium in New York City in 2006. He is co-author of “The association between celiac disease, dental enamel defects, and aphthous ulcers in a United States cohort by Cheng, J., Malahias, T., Brar, P., Minaya, M.T., and Green, P.H.R.,Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology: March 2010, Volume 44, Issue 3, pp 191-194.

Dr. Malahias has spoken to celiac support groups in Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, Los Angeles, Ohio , North Dakota , Denver Colorado and Canada He has also presented to dental study groups and societies in Long Island, New York, Rhode Island, And the 2012 Midwest dental conference in Kansas City. In 2009, Dr. Malahias was presented with the International Coeliac Disease Symposium Poster Presentation Award in Amsterdam the Netherlands, for the previously mentioned paper.
